Richard was previously COO of Tagaytay Medical Center. Prior to that, he was Head of Operations of Fe Del Mundo Medical Center and was General Manager of BIMC Hospital in Nusa Dua, Indonesia.

He was part-time lecturer in the Graduate School of St. Jude College and the College of Public Health Masteral in Hospital Administration program of the University of the Philippines. Richard received Masters in Business Administration from the De La Salle University and Masters in Hospital Administration at the University of the Philippines where he graduated class valedictorian.
